Morocco packs an unusual amount of variety into a small stretch of land, and this 4-day Casablanca to Marrakech desert tour is built around that fact. In four days you go from the Atlantic coast to the Sahara dunes, then finish in Marrakech, and almost nothing about day 2 looks like day 4.

This route works well as a Morocco 4-day itinerary because it does not try to slow down and cover one region in depth. Instead, it moves: imperial cities on day one, a long mountain crossing on day two, a proper Casablanca to Merzouga tour stretch through the Ziz Valley palm groves, a night at a desert camp after a Sahara desert camel trek, and a last day built around kasbahs and a mountain pass before Marrakech.

The middle of the route, through Todra Gorge and Dades, is really its own trip. This Dades Valley and Todra Gorges tour section is one of the most photographed parts of southern Morocco, and it would be a shame to skip it just because it falls in the middle of a longer itinerary.

The tour itself is private from start to finish. You travel with one driver and guide in an air-conditioned vehicle, and the schedule bends around you rather than the other way around. If a stop takes longer than planned, or you want extra time somewhere, that’s fine.

4 Days /3 Night

Here is the day-by-day breakdown of the Morocco 4-day itinerary, including where you stop, eat, and sleep each night.

Your driver picks you up at your hotel, riad, or the airport in Casablanca. The first stop most people remember is the Hassan II Mosque, built right on the Atlantic. It is one of the largest mosques in the world, and photos do not really prepare you for the scale of it up close.

From Casablanca, the road heads to Rabat. As Morocco's capital, it has a slower pace than Casablanca, and you'll have time to see the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Udayas above the river mouth.

You spend the rest of the day driving inland toward Meknes, one of the country's four imperial cities. Depending on the time you have left, your guide may also stop at Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman site in Morocco, and the hillside town of Moulay Idriss nearby. You'll arrive in Fes in the evening and stay the night there.

Here’s exactly what’s covered on this 4-day Casablanca to Marrakech desert tour, and which costs, like lunches and entrance fees, you’ll need to cover on your own.

It runs for 4 days and 3 nights. You start in Casablanca, spend one night in Fes, one at a desert camp near Merzouga, one in Dades Valley, and finish in Marrakech.
