This 7-day Sahara desert tour from Fes to Marrakech covers a longer, slower route than most week-long trips, with a detour through Meknes and the Roman ruins at Volubilis on the way to the desert, and a return leg through the Draa Valley and Zagora instead of the more common Todra Gorge road. It’s built for anyone who wants a full Morocco desert tour 7 days long, without rushing the imperial cities on either end.

You start in Fes with a guided day in the medina, spend two nights getting to and camping near Merzouga, then work your way across southern Morocco through palm oases and old kasbah towns before crossing the High Atlas into Marrakech. It’s a private tour throughout, with local guides added in Fes and Marrakech for the city days.

7 Days /6 Night

After breakfast, meet your guide for a day exploring Fes el Bali, the old walled city and one of the best-preserved medieval medinas in the world. You'll walk in through Bab Boujloud, the blue-tiled gate that marks the entrance to the old town, then wind through streets built for foot traffic and mule carts rather than cars.

Stops through the day usually include the Chouara Tannery, where leather has been dyed the same way for centuries, the Al Qarawiyyin mosque and university area (non-Muslims view it from outside), and the Nejjarine fountain and woodwork museum. There's also time in the souks, where different streets specialize in different trades, metalwork here, textiles there, spices somewhere else. In the evening, head back to your riad and get ready for the road south.

Yes. Aside from the two city guides in Fes and Marrakech, it's just your group and your driver for the whole trip, so the schedule can flex around you.
