DAY 1 : FES – IFRAN – AZROU – MIDELT - ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA
After being picked up, our journey from Fes takes us to the captivating High Atlas Mountains, which serve as both the natural boundary between the north and the pre-Sahara region. Our first stop is Ifran, often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco.
We’ll then travel along the outskirts of the Cedar Forest to Azrou, passing through diverse woods that lead us to the renowned cedar forests inhabited by endangered monkeys. Our route continues through Tizi Ntalghamtto, where the Ziz Gorges offer a rocky passage to the Tafilalt oases. Upon reaching Errachidia, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch. Our journey proceeds through Erfoud and Rissani, offering panoramic views of the Ziz Valley. Upon arriving in Merzouga, you’ll be greeted with a refreshing glass of mint tea at our riad. It’s time to unwind and soak in the serene desert atmosphere from the riad’s viewpoint. Enjoy an overnight stay at your riad.
DAY 2 : MERZOUGA AREA EXPLORATION - CAMEL TREK - CAMPFIRE
On the second day of your 4-day Sahara Desert tour, we start early to catch the mesmerizing sunrise and then enjoy breakfast in the Riad, giving you a glimpse into our daily life. Our journey takes us around the dunes, passing through the oasis of Merzouga, nomadic settlements, and the Khamlia village, where you’ll experience the unique music and lifestyle of the Gnawa people. We’ll also visit the scenic Merzouga lake, known for its beautiful Flamingo birds.
Continuing our exploration, we head to Rissani, a historical city and the birthplace of many Moroccan kings. Here, you can stroll through the vibrant souk, offering a variety of spices, vegetables, and clothing. Later, experience a warm welcome with mint tea at a nomadic camp before embarking on a camel ride led by a skilled guide to explore the enchanting sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the day concludes, relax in nomad tents, witness the sunset over the golden dunes, and enjoy dinner by the campfire. Upon request, we can arrange traditional Berber nomad musicians for drum music and dancing. Our camp is equipped with western bathrooms and showers for your comfort.
DAY 3 : MERZOUGA – TODGHA GORGE – DADES VALLEY
Your camel guide will gently wake you up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise, creating a memory that will linger in your mind for a lifetime. The camel trek back to the Merzouga village offers a chance to soak in the unique beauty of the stunning Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After a hearty breakfast in the Riad, our journey takes us towards Dades Valley, known as the ‘Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.’ We pass through Rissani and Erfoud, an archaeological treasure trove rich in fossils, showcasing the traditional rural life with beautifully constructed houses scattered across the largest oasis.
Continuing through Tinghir, we arrive at Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco, presenting one of the country’s most spectacular natural wonders. The drive through Dades Valley treats you to majestic sand castles, intriguing rock formations named ‘monkey toes,’ and picturesque Berber villages. Upon reaching your Riad, we’ll guide you to witness the mesmerizing sunset on Tssidrine road, concluding the day with an overnight stay in our Hotel/Riad.
DAY 4 : DADES VALLEY, ROSE VALLEY, KASBAH AIT BENHADDOU, MARRAKECH
After breakfast, our journey through the Dades Valley, part of the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, includes a stop at Kalaa-Mgouna, known as the “rose city.” Heading to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” you can explore movie studios and visit the iconic Kasbah Taourirt. We then drive to the UNESCO-protected Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, offering stunning views. Continuing via the Tizin’tichka pass, we stop at Telouet to see its ancient 17th-century Kasbah and explore Berber villages. Arriving in Marrakech, enjoy free time in Djemâa El-Fna, and dine and stay overnight at a local riad. Depending on your departure time, we’ll transfer you to the airport or your chosen location.
